Quick answers

What should I do if my electrics keep tripping?

Don't keep resetting the breaker — a repeated trip means a real fault.

At the consumer unit, identify which breaker has dropped, then unplug everything on that circuit and reset the breaker once. If it holds with nothing plugged in, the fault is in an appliance — plug things back in one by one to find the culprit. If it trips with nothing plugged in, the fault is in the fixed wiring and needs an electrician to trace it.

Can outdoor sockets and garden power be installed safely?

Yes — when installed correctly to current standards.

Outdoor sockets must be IP-rated (weatherproof) and RCD-protected. Any underground supplies should use steel-wire-armoured (SWA) cable buried at a safe depth, or a correctly rated conduit. See outdoor power & garden electrics for outdoor sockets, garden lighting, shed and garden office supplies, and hot tub circuits across Fleet and the surrounding Hampshire area.

Burning smell or sparks

Switch off at the main and call. Don't keep using the affected circuit.

Repeated tripping

The board is doing its job — but something's wrong. It needs tracing.

Buzzing accessories

A buzzing socket or switch usually means a loose connection — risk of overheating.

Renovation or new circuit

Kitchen, bathroom, extension, EV charger, garden office — plan electrics in early.

Small jobs welcome

No job too small

One socket move, a new light fitting, a faulty switch — small electrical jobs are just as welcome as larger projects.

Do you take on small electrical jobs?

Yes. Single-socket moves, a new light fitting, replacing worn-out switches, fitting a USB socket — all welcome.

Smaller jobs are easier to slot in around larger ones, which often means a quicker turnaround. You'll get a clear price up front, with the call-out cost explained before booking for diagnostic-only visits.

Single socket move

Moving a socket to a more useful spot.

Light fitting swap

FAQs

Common questions

Do you charge for a quote?

Quotes for planned work are free. Diagnostic visits and call-outs are priced clearly on the phone before booking.

Are you insured / qualified?

Insurance and qualification details can be provided on request — just ask when getting in touch.

Can you fit downlights into my kitchen ceiling?

In most cases yes — we'll check the ceiling type, insulation and any fire-rating requirements, then fit fire-rated LED downlights with sensible spacing.

My sockets keep tripping the fuseboard — can you help?

Yes. Fault finding is one of the most common call-outs. We trace the issue methodically and repair on the spot where possible.

Do you do small jobs, or only big projects?

Both. A single socket move is just as welcome as a full rewire. If we can't fit it in soon, we'll be upfront about timing.
